Hatchling Books was set up by author Jonathan Emmett to publish print-on-demand editions of his picture books that were no longer in print with their original publishers. The first books to be re-published were the Ruby the Ducking series, illustrated by Rebecca Harry, who created the Hatchling Books logo featuring Ruby.
JONATHAN EMMETT has written over 70 books for children. As well as writing picture books such as Bringing Down the Moon and The Clockwork Dragon, he writes and paper-engineers novelty books. His work has been translated into 37 languages and has won several awards both in the UK and abroad including The Week Junior Book Awards 2024, Children’s Book of the Year: Animals and Nature for The Tyrannosaurs’s Feathers and the Junior Design Awards 2024, Best Pre-Schooler Book for Number Train.
